Fractora is the most advanced skin rejuvenation technique available today. The treatment delivers radio frequency energy to heat the skin via an array of pins. The devices unique capabilities lie in its twofold effect.
Firstly, the pins are responsible for ablating the epidermis to three alternate degrees, light, moderate or deep. Secondly, the radio frequency energy heats the deeper dermal layer of the skin. The ablating action removes tiny ‘fractions’ within the upper layers of the skin which are replaced by news skin as it naturally grows.
The new skin, which was protected from the elements in the depths of the skins hair follicles, will have a much fresher and smoother appearance. This revolutionary combination of fractional resurfacing and deep dermal heating allows for a more effective treatment than traditional laser resurfacing treatments.
What conditions and areas can be treated with Fractora Facial Resurfacing?
Fractora can be used to treat facial wrinkles, acne and other facial scarring and discoloured skin tone with the most common areas of treatment being around the eye, mouth, cheeks and forehead.
Is there an ideal candidate for this treatment?
Fractora Facial Resurfacing is suitable for any individuals with mild to moderate wrinkles, loose skin and superficial textural abnormalities. Patients seeking this treatment generally want to avoid having a facelift but are looking for younger looking, tighter, more rejuvenated skin.
Fractora intensity options
Fractora treatments are categorised into light, moderate and deep treatments.
Mild treatments use a low energy setting and may be done every 2-4 weeks for 6 to 8 treatments or more. The recovery time is 1 – 2 days and there is minimal discomfort or aftercare. Mild treatments are ideal for candidates looking to see general improvements in skin tone and the smoothing of fine wrinkles.
Moderate treatments use a higher energy setting and can be done every 2-6 weeks for 4 to 6 treatments or more with recovery time around 3-4 days. Moderate treatments are recommended for uneven skin tone, deeper wrinkles and fine spider veins.
Deep treatments use even higher energy settings and may only require 1 to 3 treatments. These can be repeated as early as 6weeks (or up to 6 months) post treatment. Down time associated with deep treatments is usually 5 to 7 days but can be longer. These treatments are best suited to candidates with uneven skin tone, deep wrinkles and skin laxity.
Will it hurt?
Fractora Facial Resurfacing can cause some discomfort particularly in the case of the moderate and deep treatments. To minimise discomfort numbing cream is applied prior to the procedure and Ibuprofen and/or anesthetic injections may be used.
Will you see results?
Some results can be seen immediately but typically they are visible two weeks after the treatments. As Fractora stimulates new collagen production the results are typically permanent. Unfortunately, we will continue to age so future treatments are necessary.
